Project & Activities

Projects and activities, in which HEDO performed its duties, are discussed below.

In case of health facilities HEDO provided following facilities to the community.

HEDO arranged many medical camps in different localities to provide free medical camps in different localities to provide free medical check up and medicine to needy and poor community.

A homeopathic clinic serves to community with health – facilities in the area, in which free medical treatment is provided to needy and poor community.

HEDO provides awareness about family planning to the community. For this purpose awareness sessions with women community have been conducted, to make aware them regarding the concept and need of family planning.

HEDO has signed an Awareness – Project with PATTAN DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATON PAKISTAN, for which staff training has been completed.

HEDO has been providing education services to the community for a long time ago. A school named QANDEEL FOUNDATION has been established, in which fifty students are providing free education along with free books and uniforms.

HEDO has conducted four (4) seminars on the topic of religious tolerance in district Faisalabad, with the collaboration of Christian Study Centre – Islamabad. In these seminars all sects participated and discussed that how religious tolerance could be created within the community. This project proved its worth within the quite well.

There was a havoc need to make advocacy for social & political issues at district level. Seeing this need HEDO decided to establish a platform, which could make advocacy against social & political unjust in the society to solve local issues, local government will be involved in the process of advocacy. For this purpose, Faisalabad NGOs Advocacy Council (FNAC) consisting of twelve local NGOs was formed.

To promote NGOs and create linkages among them and facilitate for their working, issues and training, HEDO is performing its duties in the working of Faisalabad NGOs Network and Pakistan NGOs Coordination Council, with responsibility according to its role.

HEDO also has arranged the programmes for poor/needy and prisoners, to present then eid gifts, on the occasion of eid.

In the election 2001, HEDO performed a vital role in sessions of voters – education, regarding local government system, with voters as well as candidates, in different localities, with the collaboration of FAUP. This project was funded by DFID.

Officials of HEDO played the role of moderator / instructor, in the sessions of voters – education. In these session voters were explained and briefed all about local government ordinance 2000.

Rules and regulations regarding local government elections, role of union/tehsil/district councilors and nazim along with methodology of their election and structure of councils, benefits of local government system, rules of submission of nomination papers, awareness about ballot paper and introduction of department which could help to community regarding local government system as well as elections, were discussed in details with the participants, in the sessions of voters – education

HEDO performed its duties as research surveyor, in local government election research, with the collaboration of PATTAN DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION PAKISTAN, in district Faisalabad. This project was funded by DFID.In this election research staff HEDO was trained with the knowledge of local government system, public relationing, techniques of random sampling, tools of conducting interviews, analyzing the finding of research and preparing reports.In this research, pre & post interviews of candidates, voters and key informers in the different communities and localities were conducted.After elections, finding, analysis and observation of research along with recommendation were shared with press in a big press conference.
